Beautiful Jacket, Odd Fit

I love the jacket and material. I thought this would fit more slim than my AK jackets. It doesn't, maybe more boxy. Arms are also very long 4” longer than other mediums I own. Try it on if you can.

Great design lacking durability

I've had this coat for a year now and have loved it. Overall it's a fantastic design with perfect pockets for everything you could need on the resort or in the backcountry. The fit is perfect, looking great, but also not so tight that it is ever restrictive. It's also amazing how well it blocks wind despite how light it is. Compared to a gore-tex coat it definitely is lacking in waterproofing, but given the soft shell material and lightness I think it meets expectations for this. The area this coat really falters is in durability. I do a good amount of riding through trees and have three different tears in the fabric already from branches catching. Unfortunately the thinness of the material just can't hold up to much wear and tear. From an initial design perspective and if you can take great care of this thing it is a perfect coat, but unfortunately with the lack of durability against reasonable conditions, I don't know that I'd be able to buy this coat again at this price given my last coat put up with many years of this type of exposure where this one started having issues within a single season.

When we developed this jacket, we had the focus on lightweight, stretch, breathability and sustainability for a splitboard jacket that would excel for touring.

The result is a very lightweight, super comfortable, super breathable, super stretchy jacket, made with 100% recycled materials. Yes, this is not as durable as we would like to see it. So for most of the users, it works, but for heavy users, it might not be the right product.

We only use PFC-Free DWR to ensure a lighter footprint on the environment, which is currently outperformed by PFC-containing DWRs, but this will be the new standard, as PFAS are banned from 1 JAN 2025.

We take your comments very seriously and are working on bringing more durability to this jacket while ensuring it stays light and breathable and excels as an uphill product. Thank you for providing this feedback.

Do it.

I am one of those who doesn't typically write reviews, but felt compelled too. The quality of the items (I've purchased two jackets, a snowboard, and a board bag so far) and customer service from Jones (and Nidecker) are far superior to any others I've worked with.

Best Jacket Yet

Loving the fit of this jacket. Zips and pockets in the right places and the helmet compatible hood works better than any other jacket I've had in the past including burton AK and NorthFace Steep Series. Had it out on cold windy days and had no issues with wind getting in. Would say that the jacket runs about true to size, if anything slightly large. at 6'2 180 lbs it's the right size for me and I think would work if you were slightly taller and/or heavier as well.
